Feed Yourself that which Nourishes You
Soul Nourishment is a concept that is the underpinning of how we develop and support our spirit; release unwanted beliefs, thought patterns, and other habits; and call forward our best and shiniest self.
Soul Nourishment is such an important concept to me that I lovingly refer to myself as a Soul Nourishment Guru :-)
I have always been on the path that nourishes my soul and have learned quite a bit along the way. I have the strong desire to teach others how they may do this as well. It is the undercurrent and frame work of what I teach, how I coach clients, and how I live my life.
What is Soul Nourishment exactly? It is putting into your body in all its forms, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, that which feeds it. We feed our soul when we feed all areas of our life.
This is the food and fluids we ingest as well as the activities and tasks we undertake. What are we feeding ourselves? When we eat life through pure and vibrant whole foods, pure and clean water, and organic and clean sourced foods we are supporting the temple which is our body.
We also support our body by blessing it, by thanking it for serving us. Nourishment of the physical also means gentle and supportive exercise, being mindful of how we walk and carry ourselves, and the air we take in through attention to our breath. When we serve the body and feed it with nourishing foods, water, oxygen, and movement we reduce stress, fatigue and increase well being in the rest of our life.
Our body walks with us in this world and we will feel better on all levels when we support it lovingly.
Thoughts lead to emotions which keep us feeling in pain or feeling in joy. The two bodies are very closely related. Often the thought comes first and the emotion follows in a reaction. Sometimes the emotion is triggered based on past experiences and habits.
We nourish ourselves with our thoughts and feelings. What habitual thought patterns do we tell ourselves that starve us, and keep us from claiming our light and love? We must learn to continually release thoughts about ourselves that cripple and abuse us. At the same time we must learn ways to cultivate thoughts of love for ourselves and others. We feed ourselves constantly with our ongoing thoughts. It takes practice and commitment to change some of the powerful patterns we have set in place. Be gentle with yourself as you learn to release the patterns that do not serve and feed yourself with new thoughts and create new habits. Consider time in meditation exercises that truly give the brain a rest so spirit can come on line.
What makes your heart sing? Are you giving it to yourself? If so, keep giving yourself more. When you feed your spirit by doing what brings you great joy you free yourself on all levels. This isn't the superficial passing happiness or joy we achieve by gratifying ourselves, the temporary fleeting type of joy. This is the joy we feel when we are doing what gives us purpose and we are providing ourselves the nourishment we need in order to do that. When we are living in our Truth.
Ways to give to spirit include dancing, creating art, meditating, doing ascension practices, being in nature, gardening, and the list can go on and on. All these things help mental/emotional and physical health at the same time. The important thing is that you engage in what your heart longs for.
Whatever act of nourishment we are engaging in assists us on all levels. Supporting ourselves on one layer helps us feel better on all the other layers. One small adjustment in increasing nourishment in one area will delight you with impacts on the others. When we cut out what does not nourish us we can make more room for that which does. By allowing our soul to lead we are more easily able to make choices that nourish our mind and physical body because we are in joy-filled flow.
