A key to staying in the flow, and not getting sucked up by intensity and perceived chaos around us is to learn to stay more centered in our hearts.
Our heart is the center of our being. Ancient and modern scholars and traditions around the world reference the heart as the gateway to healing and as the center of our Authenticity. In research examples can be found for the power of our heart, like the Institute for Heartmath that has documented research showing the field the heart emits and how it is much larger than that of your brain, as well as how it changes and interacts with others fields based on emotions, thoughts, the environment, etc. Our brain can try to think ourselves out of trouble, or keep us stuck in a loop of fear or pain. Our brain is where our ego, or personality self, likes to inhabit.
Our heart goes beyond the ego and our perceived sense of self our ego provides for us. Our heart is connected to our True Essence. This is a place where we can live in our authenticity and trust. This is the place where we know all is truly well, even if around us the world seems to be going crazy. Our heart provides information and intuition and helps pump our joy throughout the rest of our body.
Thriving with Intensity
To thrive when life gets intense due to personal challenges, relationship stresses, family blips or chaos, or when the whole global community feels like it is falling apart, can feel very daunting. If we think about all that is going wrong, we actually keep ourselves in doubt and fear, or anger or blame. These emotions keep us from connecting with our heart.
To thrive when things feel crazy we must release the hold and magnetism that is charged around an event or situation. Then we must reconnect with our heart and anchor there. EFT, journaling, dancing, and meditating are just some of the ways we can help release. But we must also come back to our heart to lift us.
This is the heart of Self-Ascension practices. Self-Ascension is the term for coming back into alignment with your heart and lifting up from fear-based experiences into our Truth and Authenticity. We move from fear, anger, shame, guilty, confusion to Unconditional Love, Peace, and Joy. It is a process and practice. But we all know how to do this! Sometimes we just have to remember how.
Heart Centered Breathing
A most simple and profound practice
One of the most easy and simple ways to get out of your head and reconnect with your heart is to bring a hand to your heart. Take in a breath and release with sound. Do this several times.
Bringing your hand to heart sends a powerful signal to your body that you are safe and brings you into the heart. It will call you back from your mind and anchor you in your Truth.
Breathe. Release. Connect.
